Cream of the Crap
There's an idea that I have always carried with me since I first heard about it back in my Magic the Gathering days: a Tournament where you play to see who has the worst army. "How would that work?" you might ask. With Magic, you build a crappy deck and bring it to the tourney. Then when you face your opponent, you play their deck, and you play yours, with the idea being that the better deck will win. So the more times you win against your deck, the worse your deck is. There would obviously need to be some paramaters attached, to keep people from building a deck of 60 land cards, but the idea is sound.
I think it would be interesting to do this with Warmachine. In a tournament setting, you'd have to be willing to let other people play with your models, and there would need to be rules about sepending all of your points and such. I think it would create some interesting armies people have never seen, and it might bring out some casters who have been hiding under a rock at Tournaments, like Darius. I got the idea when a buddy of mine gave me an extra Bosun Grogspar model he received by mistake. I was thinking that it was a cool model, but it really adds absolutly noting to my existing forces. But if I were playing "Cream of the Crap," he would be an awesome model to include.
Another variation of this that I would like to try outside of a tournament setting is building my opponents list, while they build mine. I keep all of my army cards in a little binder. I could hand my binder to them, and they would build my army, while I looked through their models and built their army for them. Then I would play the list they designed and they would play the list I created. I think this would lead to some fun matchups.
Has anyone ever heard of playing like this?

About the "play what other built", I think it's a really good idea !
You could do it in a way where both of you try to make the worst army possible. Or, as a preparation for tournaments, as a way to build things you wouldn't have thought of. But that means that both of you need to know your opponent's army.

This sounds like a very fun idea or make a list and they all go in a pull so you get a random army or do the crap idea but t is random what army you get.

That does sound as if it could be fun, and would be interesting to see how it would work. I would be willing to discuss it further!
