Creepers going to creep

I start my adventure into Minecraft with a quick scouting around the terrain looking for a good spot to make my shelter for the coming night, and while gathering supplies the sun starts to set. I think to myself better hurry before it gets too dark. As I start throwing down my new stone pick into some cobblestone I hear a strange hissing noise then BOOM!!! Dam creeper comes up and blows me into oblivion what jerks

I know, right? I kicked it down to peaceful difficulty just so I could get a foothold before they started coming. I'm pretty sure they kept letting all of my cows out of the pasture at night (or maybe it was those pesky skeletons).

You playing on PC or 360?

On the pc i have a chicken coop and a pig pen and have not had any issues with them getting out i just have them gated in

I would love to have a small survival server going with a small group of people that would be awesome but i do mot know anything about running a server

Terraria is like a 2-D version of minecraft, with (slightly) better graphics, a more elaborate crafting system, with a dungeon and an underworld to explore. I got it for under 10 bucks and spent 60+ hours with it. I was late to the Minecraft party, having played it for the first time a week ago.
