Commission Work Empty Commission Work

Post  Legion of Hufferblight Sun Jan 15, 2012 7:55 am

High all Legion here and I am thinking about starting to do commission work. I have the time and have a decent price scale (I think anyways). I recently did work for a friend, and as it turned out I seem to like money. Smile
Here is my painting price list:
- Warhammer 40K, Warhammer fantasy, Warmachine, Hordes etc.
Small Base
- Unit: 2$ for each model.
- Commander (warlock/warcaster): 5$ for each model.
- Characters (solos): 4$ for each model.

Medium Base
- Unit: 3$ for each model.
- Commander (warlock/warcaster): 6$ for each model.
- Characters (solos): 5$ for each model.
- Warjacks/Warbeasts: 6$ for each model.

Large Base
- Unit: 4$ for each model.
- Commander (warlock/warcaster): 7$ for each model.
- Characters (solos): 6$ for each model.
- Warjacks/Warbeasts: 7$ for each model.

120mm Base
- Battle Engine: 20$ for each model.
- Colossals: 20$ for each model.

Base Design
- Basic basing (sand and small stones, colored the way you want.): free.
- Static Grass (I have dark green and light green): $.20 per base.
- Snow basing: $.50 per base.
- Water effect basing: $.50 per base.
I can also make markings for front arcs. This is a free service and consists of two lines, one on each side, to denote front and back. I have purchased base huggers (from advanced deployment games) that are pieces of plastic designed to mark the arcs. They are very accurate. These are of a color of your choosing.

Vehicles (non privateer press games)
Small - rhino, landspeeder, predator
- Vehicle: 10$ for each
Large - land raider, falcon, battle engines
- Vehicle: 15$
*note: if the vehicle has an interior I will not paint it if it already assembled.
*note: also if there is a large amount of work to on the model (clipping it off of the sprue, mold lines etc) I will charge extra, 50% of the paint job price.

When I recieve miniatures I will need your phone number so I can contact you if situations arise or am done with the miniatures. I can proved my phone number and address to those who I do business with.

I will be working on a first come first serve business.
Thanks
Laters. Very Happy

Those look like really reasonable prices. Not too high, not too low. I know I'll throw some business your way because the figs won't have to be shipped both ways. I've looked into other services (that do work in Sri Lanka or whatever) and the international shipping, as well as the delays of getting through customs is just too much pain.

One suggestion: you might want to describe the techniques that you'll use at each level and maybe charge less for "basic" techniques (drybrushing, washing, etc.) and more for using advanced and more time consuming techniques (multiple glazes, blending/wet blending, etc.). I know I wouldn't mind some drybrushing on large unit with small bases, but wouldn't want to see it on my 'caster or 'lock. Maybe you are implying that already for charging more for solos and caster/locks, but it might not hurt to give a short reason why the price is different.

Yes I want to spend more time on the character models of an army. I want to make a gallery of models that I reference people to so they can see my work. I want to provide a good table top quality for the persons army. A good paint job for the buck. Something that the owner and myself will be proud of to show off on the table.

I have spent about 30 (in trade) on Shawn's work and am overall very happy with the work. Will have to get some pictures up. Forgot I had a camera that can do that. So, pics to come!

I cannot take all the credit for those miniatures. A friend of eJacob and myself painted some. The deliverers unit and the artillery, and a few of the jacks. I did the flame work on the harbinger with greenstuff and our friend painted it.
