The Iron Bodger Challenge: Week 1

I'm figuring out that I can never find the time to build good armies. I never have enough time to read the rules for all the models I have, find the synergies, and do the building. I'd rather get the models out on the table, learn new stuff as I go, and build from that core. However, I hate playing full games in which I've just thrown the list together, because getting beat in the head like a baby seal is never fun.

So, now that I'm putting together a total inventory, I thought that I'd give you folks with more time and a better knowledge of army synergies help me and and as a little weekly challenge. I thought I'd use the Iron Chef format and give you limitations and expectations. Mostly, they'll be based around the casters I want to play, the models I have painted, and/or what I feel like transporting.

Here's week one!:

Cuisine: Legion of Everblight
Number of Courses: 35 pts.
Secret Ingredients: Bethany with Belaphagor; Proteus, Ravagore, and/or Scythean
Limitations: No infantry (don't feel like packing them), Nephiliam Bolt Thrower or Nephilim Protector (both unpainted), Blighted Nyss Sorceress & Hellion (a pain to transport without more foam)

Uh, the main problem with your limitations, even though the exercice is awesome, is that the feat of Bethayne is oriented towards troops with magic abilities..

Typically a good list could be :

Bethayne & Belphagor (*3pts)
* Carnivean (11pts)
Blackfrost Shard (5pts)
Blighted Nyss Hex Hunters (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
* Bayal, Hound of Everblight (3pts)
2 Spell Martyrs (2pts)
Throne of Everblight (9pts)

Of course, now you can solve the problem by going berserk and replace the Shard, the spelle martyrs and the Hex Hunters with an Archangel !

2 huge bases. Full beasts and BEs. Guaranteed to lose but quick and in your limitations.

Ah, great post! I haven't had the time to look at her status. I just know its cool that the models have magnets and a neat gimmick! But now I've learned something that I my not have if I "wasted" an evening struggling with her.

Also, I don't have a Throne of Everblight yet, but I do plan to pick up one and an Archangel down the road.
