Tournament!?

Hey, I know we are waiting on PP to respond to Zack's Pressganger request but there is nothing telling us we can't hold a tournament. Even if it is just the people we know personally we have well over enough for a good starter tournament, and if nothing else will be good practice for the tournament setting for all of us. Yay or nay? If yay, what is a good date? I am going to suggest the 17th of this month. That way we don't have to wait until after the holidays! Obviously there won't be any kind of prize support because we don't have pressganger status unless everyone wants to throw like 5 bucks in or even 1 or 2, but honestly I would rather just play for the experience and good times. Cheers.

I'd be up for a tournament that weekend. I think It would be a great way to meet everyone in the area too. Some of he scenarios can really change how the game is played to so a tournament like this could be a good way to get everyone used to playing with them. How many players do you think we could get?

I should know by Monday about my PG status; I have a "phone interview" with the Quartermaster from PP.

As soon as I'm approved, we can get Dennis (owner of the Dueling Grounds) to order some official prize support and prizes from PP. If everything lines up just right, we could get this together for a Steamroller by the 17th.

Depending on the number of players and the type of prizes that are offered, there should be an entrance fee. $5 a person should do it: the certificate and coin kit for 1st through 3rd place is $20. If we had the minimum of four, that would pay for it and any spillover would support the store for use of the space and help go towards promotional stuff like getting an official demo table.

I'd enjoy a tournament, would enjoy it even more with prize support.

Ill see if I can get off that day. The walmart overlords are a bit picky with December scheduling.

I just had my phone interview today and the PP guy said that I should know about my Press Ganger status by tomorrow afternoon at the latest. As soon as I know that I'm in, I'll put everything together for it and get Dennis to order a prize kit.

I'm saying that I'm 95% sure that we'll have a tourney at the Dueling Grounds on that weekend. As soon as I know more, I'll post it here.
