Here is my first attempt at painting since the 90's.

I wanted something light, fast to paint and simple to do. I also wanted to use Quickshade cause it makes everything faster.

So... Here it is !

The gallery will show you all that is glued and primed.

For the moment, I got 15 points painted today. The BG plus one skarlock. geek

Nice work! I love the pose on the Slayer. It gives me a real "I'm coming for YOU" feeling. I also like what you have done with the red/orange glow. Keep it up. At the rate you are going, you'll have it all done in no time Exclamation

Thanks everyone. I really enjoyed doing it plus it's super simple and fast. Win-win. I hope to be able to do the Bilethralls today.

I filed the visa request, so between 4 and 9 months from now... It's really not easy to get married with a (beautiful) American woman... Sad

I was expecting to be able to come for Origins or GenCon but my lawyer advised me not to so that CBP don't get confused/offended/suspicious/etc...

Yeah, that's why I decided to start painting as I cannot play much anymore... Smile

Thanks a lot, I didn't expect the colors to lay that good... Now 17 minis on the table : Full McThralls + 3 brutes + Necrosurgeon and Stitch thralls. Hope to have them base coated today. elephant

I used the Quickshade with a little more sense this time, preserving a little more the white under it, and my all three brutes are different looking thanks to these tubes that kept breaking down.

These nasty little buggers are full of detail that I won't ever paint ! lol

After several hesitation, here is my second list.
The deadline is now in exactly two months.

Army Name: APO SKARRE 50
Cryx
50+6 points, 37 models

Pirate Queen Skarre +6 points
* Deathripper 4 points
* Seether 9 points

* Skarlock Thrall 2 points

Captain Rengrave 2 points
Darragh Wrathe 4 points
10 Revenant Crew 9 points
Satyxis Raider Captain 2 points
10 Satyxis Raiders 8 points
* Satyxis Sea Witch 2 points
3 Scrap Thralls 1 point
5 Soulhunters 9 points

A piratey themed army.
The Seether and the Skarlock are painted. But I just finished glueing 20 Satyxis raiders (yes I have two units and I will make them all at the same time).

Skarre/Skarlock/Scrapthralls to create more focus.
Seether to save some focus.
Deathripper to have a cheap arc node for hellfire and mostly backlash.

Darragh is here to make everyone move really fast. Captain does the same for the girls and prevent Skarre from getting KD.
Soulhunters as alpha strike to harvest tokens.
Revenant as tar-pit unit.

The purpose is to get a casterkill on round 2 if everything goes according to the plan. Eventually, Round 3.

Now to the painting table... Pics when I have something to show.

Update without pics : the cavs, darragh, the 4 scrap thralls (I had one extra) Skarre and the satyxis captain and sea witch are painted.

But due to the utter destruction of the brush I used for the Quickshade, I will now dip my minis when I have several of them to do, like a whole list.

I also ordered some flock and rubbles for the bases. I will experiment with it and take new pics. bom
